EMERGENCY ALERT !!! PLEASE READ !!!
karinanotcinerina:
As Hurricane Irene batters the East Coast, federal disaster officials have warned that Internet outages could force people to interact with other people for the first time in years. Residents are bracing themselves for the horror of awkward silences & unwanted eye contact. FEMA has advised: “Be prepared. Write down possible topics to talk about in advance. Sports, family,...
The Stupid
I have had nothing to say the last couple of months, largely because I wasn’t sure I had anything left to say. I personally have had quite a nice summer, but the last few weeks I’ve noticed an alarming increase in what I have come to think of as The Stupid, and what I think I’d like to know is if any of you have too.
The Stupid, as I dubbed it earlier this year, is the general...

Rules for romance, friends, everything. I am so happy to be free of the days when I was valued only for how I could entertain. When I couldn’t call someone I cared about out on their self-destructive behavior without being labeled “unsupportive.” When I wasn’t granted the respect of having my shit pointed out so I could address it. When I begged for scraps even when I had...

A Walk On The Slightly Wild Side
My fabby sis-in-law, Deb, has a permanent trailer at a conservation area outside of town that Peaches and I finally got out to friday night. Sorry it took us so long.
She has a beautiful shady corner lot that you can see the road from and not much else ( i.e humanity ) and a rather nice trailer to boot. I like trailers, pardon me, mobile homes is the correct term - no? An affection I routinely...
And It's Enough
Have been working like a dog the past couple of weeks - I would complain, but the truth is so much of my self worth is tied to me having a job at all that I have no reason to.
I like to be able to pay my bills, and I am good at what I do even if it is a job that doesn’t matter in the least.
Peaches moved back two weeks ago, and I couldn’t be happier about that, although I am sorry...

Sign From God?
I had a very nice gentleman come into work tonight inquiring about possible vegetarian options from the menu. This led to a fairly lengthy discussion about veggie patties, Calgary, and his originally being from Montreal but currently living in Rochester. He mentioned that he was only here for two days for a job interview, and I asked if he would tell me what job it was that he was applying for. (...

Stupid Motherfucker Of The Day Story
My niece is a fabulous gal. She’s funny, attractive, horribly intelligent and outstandingly honest. She also has a great big heart.
Her mother was telling me last night that 2 weeks ago someone came up to her and asked for some change. She did not have any but offered him what she had- 4 winning roll up the rim tabs from Tim Horton’s contest that runs every spring in Canada. These...
